HAVE YOUR PET SAFELY
GROOMED BY A CERTIFIED
VETERINARY ASSISTANT
AND EXPERT PET GROOMER
(BOTH SINCE 1996)
FOR THE BEST QUALITY TREATMENT!
KARA KAISER, owner (with the late "Hank")
Studio K-9 is vet recommended and provides all-breed dog,
cat, and small animal grooming for very reasonable rates.
It's experienced and animal-loving owner
uses patience and lots of tender loving care
to give your pet the best kind of treatment.
She maintains a clean, friendly, healthy environment,
in a fully visible grooming facility.
This "studio" promotes quality, not quantity!
Kara spends an equal and considerable amount of time
with each of her clients and their pets
because they are ALL important :) The "usual" amount
of time they spend here averages 3 hours. Some shops
will do rush jobs to push out quantity, while others will
keep your pet all day to fit into their schedules. Kara uses the
"rotation" technique which allows the pet the least amount
of stress. This means that while your pet is finishing
drying, she will work on the next one. This is why pick up
times will sometimes vary due to the other pet's condition.
She also spends a lot of time hand drying
the animals and only leaves room temperature air
dryers on those who must dry in a cage as to not overheat them.
She wants only the best for you and your pets!
Studio K-9 provides an affordable teeth cleaning
and breath treatment service.
There is no use of any form of tranquilizer.
Kara also offers discounted nail trimming
and anal gland expressing.
Don’t like to drive in elements or while dark?
She offers pick up and drop off too!
Studio K-9 has a mini gift gallery
with hand crafted gifts for animal lovers alike.
There are also some grooming supplies
necessary to keep your pet in tip top shape!

PRICING: All prices vary based on size, temperament,
and condition. This is so the well maintained, well trained,
and well cared for pets cost less than the once a year, wild, and
unkept ones (these obviously take more time, product,
and patience.)
A little about Kara:
Kara was born an animal lover. Her whole life
she was surrounded by them. She's had dogs, cats, birds,
fish, lizards, hermit crabs, rabbits, rats, gerbils, hamsters,
turtles, frogs, ducks, and snails.
She currently has dogs, cats, a tortoise, chinchillas, and fish.
She's fascinated by many animals, her favorite being the giraffe.
She has quite an extensive collection
of giraffe, dog, and cat figurines, among many others.
All through high school Kara knew she wanted to be in the animal
field but could never decide on one career.
After a year out of high school she had an opportunity
to attend a school in Minnesota for a veterinary assistant.
When she learned she was able to do her internship
in the West Bend area, she then moved back "home"
and started immediately. After working with two local vets,
she had completed her schooling and now holds
a certified veterinary assistant diploma.
When the time came to do a work search,
there was nothing available in the vet field in this location.
Kara then applied for a dog grooming position
at a West Bend pet store. With her background,
they were happy to train her on the job.
It was then that she finally found her "calling".
That was in January of 1996. The pet store later
went out of business but Kara kept on grooming!
In September of 1997, Kara changed grooming shops
to help a fairly new one (opened in July of 1996)
take off. She was the first and only employee
until at least 1999. With all the clients she brought in,
they needed more help yet. She soon became the manager
of those helpers. After knowing all aspects of the field,
she was asked to consider purchasing the grooming shop.
There were some unfortunate circumstances with the business
and years went by and Kara still wasn't able to rationalize
the purchase. She then realized that there was only one way
to obtain her goal and that was to open her own NEW business.
In November of 2005, an opportunity arose to do so.
Kara called a past fellow co-worker and friend, Carrie,
to see if she'd be interested in joining her.
They were so excited that only three weeks later,
after much determination, they opened Studio K-9.
In March of 2006, Kara had another opportunity arise
to work for one of the vet clinics she did her internship at.
Now she can finally use her schooling to help animals too!
She now has the best of both worlds.
As of April 1, 2007, Carrie had an opportunity to follow her dreams
and took on another business venture. Now Kara is sole owner
of Studio K-9.
